Southwest Dominates to Win 2026 RRAC Men’s Golf Championships at Rockwind

HOBBS, N.M. (April 30, 2026) — Host University of the Southwest (N.M.) delivered a wire-to-wire victory at the 2026 Red River Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships, claiming the team title at Rockwind Community Links with a three-round total of 905 (+41).

RRAC Men's Golf Championships Final Results

The Mustangs set the tone early with a first-round 304 (+16) and never relinquished the lead, backing it up with rounds of 298 (+10) and 303 (+15) to secure a comfortable margin over the field.

Valdez Leads the Way

Individually, USW's Jesse Valdez captured medalist honors with a steady three-day performance, finishing at +2 overall. After opening at +1, Valdez surged into the lead with a second-round -2, then closed with a +3 to hold off challengers.

Teammates Konnner Iglehart (+7) and Jorge Molinar III (+11) also delivered key scoring, giving Southwest the depth needed to control the tournament from start to finish.

Tight Race for Runner-Up

Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) secured second place at 927 (+63), powered by a strong final round (312, +8)—one of the best team scores of the tournament.

OLLU's Niall Langley-Brook made a late charge with a final-round -3, finishing second individually at +3 overall.

Texas A&M–Victoria Charges on Final Day

Texas A&M University–Victoria posted the lowest round of the championship on Day 3 with an even-par 288, vaulting into third place at 930 (+66).

Brandon Gratton led the Jaguars' surge with a final-round -4, finishing sixth overall.

Tie for Fourth

Texas A&M University–San Antonio and Texas A&M University–Texarkana tied for fourth at 942 (+78).

Texarkana's Rylen Caldwell (+10) placed fourth individually, while San Antonio's lineup showed balance with multiple top-20 finishes.

Rest of the Field

Jarvis Christian (Texas) and Louisiana Christian tied for sixth at 1045 (+181) to round out the standings.

The top 10 individuals (including ties) earned all-conference honors including Valdez (USW), Langley-Brook (OLLU), Iglehart (USW), Caldwell (TAMUT), Molinar (USW), Gratton (A&M-Victoria), Lucky Boonsrirat (A&M-Victoria), Kyle Mahan (TAMUSA), Jack Wilson (TAMUSA), Florian Simon (TAMUSA), and Alex Marshall (OLLU).
