Men's Outdoor Track and Field National Championships will feature Xavier, UNTD, OLLU and TAMUT

WACO, Texas (May 19, 2026) – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) will hold the 74th Annual Men's Outdoor Track and Field National Championships from May 20-22 at Karl Straus Track in Asheville, N.C.
 
Xavier University of Louisiana, the Red River Athletic Conference's 2026 Men's Track and Field Champions, will send a 4x400m relay team to the national meet, along with three individual athletes: Jaheene Bell in the 400m hurdles, Karri Noel in the 400m, and Mansur Ali in the discus throw.
 
The 4x400m relay team is an "A" qualifier and has the fifth-best time—3:11.57 (achieved at RRAC meet)—entering the semifinals. The Gold Rush will run in the prelims on May 21 at 8:45 p.m. They may earn a spot in the finals on May 22 at 4:20 p.m. The team won the relay event at the conference meet. Members are Jaheene Bell, Tremanie Hamilton, D'Kirian Allen, and Karri Noel.
 
Jaheene Bell will participate in the 400mH. His time of 51.21 (achieved at RRAC meet) is the second-best in the NAIA this season. He will compete in the semifinals on May 20 at 3:55 p.m. If he earns a spot in the finals, that event will be held May 22 at 3:20 p.m. Bell won the 400mH at the conference championships this year.
 
Karri Noel, with a best time of 47.18 (achieved at RRAC meet), will run the 400m in the semifinals on May 21 at 3:20 p.m. The finals are scheduled for May 22 at 2:45 p.m. Noel won this event at the conference meet. He was also awarded the High Point Track Athlete of the Year.
 
Mansur Ali qualified in the discus throw with a mark of 52.04 (achieved at the Pelican Relays)—the ninth best in the NAIA. His final event will be held on May 22 at 8 a.m. Ali won the discus throw at this season's conference meet. He also earned the High Point Field Athlete of the Year.
 
The Gold Rush has qualified athletes for nationals 11 times since 2020. They have sent athletes to nationals every year from 2014 to 2019, and from 2021 to 2026.

Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas), runners-up for the RRAC championship, will send one relay team and three individuals to nationals.
 
The Saints' 4x800m relay team, with a qualifying time of 7:40.00 (achieved at RRAC Meet), will compete in prelims on May 20 at 5:50 p.m. and, if they advance, in finals on May 21 at 5:30 p.m. Team members are Isai Moran, Joseph Gonzalez, Joshua Veliz, and Jose Perez. The Saints won the event at the RRAC meet.
 
Damien DeLeon qualified in the 110m hurdles with a 14.35 (achieved at RRAC meet). He will compete in prelims on May 21 at 1:15 p.m.; finals are on May 22 at 2:35 p.m. DeLeon won the event at the conference meet.
 
Willis Thibeaux will participate in the long jump with his best mark of 7.61m (achieved at the Cactus Cup) in the finals on May 21 at 11 a.m. Thibeaux placed second in this event at the RRAC meet.
 
OLLU has qualified athletes for nationals eight times since the program was begun in 2014. From 2022-2026, the Saints have sent nearly 100 student-athletes to nationals.
The University of North Texas-Dallas will send two relay teams to the national championships.
 
The men's 4x100m relay team, consisting of Jackson Dannier, Ernest Ayanugo, Markevian White, and Ben Perrin, has a best time of 40.88 (achieved at the War Hawk Classic). They will compete in the semifinals on May 20 at 2:30 p.m., with the finals scheduled for May 22 at 2:05 p.m. The Trailblazers won the 4x100m event at the conference meet.
 
The 4x400m relay, with a best time of 3:13.15 (achieved at RRAC meet), will compete in the semifinals on May 21 at 7:45 p.m. The team includes Jahaden Jackson, Ernest Ayanugo, Ben Perin, and Devin Page. The team placed second in this event at the conference meet.
 
This is the first year UNTD has qualified for the national outdoor championships.
Texas A&M University – Texarkana has two individual qualifiers. Desroy Jordan will compete in the 400m. Jordan has the fifth-best time of 46.50 (achieved at the Louisiana Tech Jim Mize Invitational). He will compete in the semifinals on May 21 at 3:20 p.m. The finals will take place on May 22 at 2:45 p.m. Jordan finished second at the conference meet.
 
TAMUT 's Jayden Erickewe qualified in the 400mH with a time of 53.27 (achieved at Ole Miss Classic), and his semifinals event will take place on May 20 at 4:55 p.m., with the finals to be held on May 22 at 3:20 p.m. Erickewe finished second in the conference meet in the event.
 
The Eagles most recently sent student-athletes to nationals in 2023, 2024, and 2026.
