Southwest concludes season after two rounds in the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship

WACO, Texas (May 14, 2026) – The University of the Southwest (N.M.) brought the Red River Athletic Conference spirit to the 74th Annual NAIA Men's Golf National Championship, held this week at the scenic TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.

The Mustangs secured an automatic bid by triumphing at the RRAC Men's Golf Championship earlier in May.

After earning an automatic bid, USW battled through two intense rounds but narrowly missed the final cut.

On May 12, Southwest began the tournament by posting a team score of 296 (+16). Leading the Mustangs, Konner Iglehart scored a 72 (+2). Close behind, Jayden Romig carded a 73 (+3), Jorge Molinar III notched a 74 (+4), Jesse Valdez finished with a 77 (+7), and Christian Martinez posted an 85 (+15).

Continuing into the second round, the Mustangs tallied 310 (+30). Molinar jumped to lead USW with 75 (+5), followed by Iglehart 77 (+7), Martinez 78 (+8), Romig 80 (+10), and Valdez 81 (+11).

With these results, Southwest ultimately finished in 24th place overall with an overall 606 (+46), falling just short of the cut for today's final round.

The RRAC proudly congratulates Southwest for its impressive second consecutive appearance at the NAIA National Championship.
