OLLU Softball advances to NAIA Opening Round Championship
WACO, Texas (May 13, 2026) – The RRAC's Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) advances to the championship game in the Opening Round of the 45th Annual NAIA Softball National Championship. Texas A&M-Texarkana and LSU Alexandria ended their seasons today.
Second-seed Our Lady of the Lake had a long day. They began the third day of the Klamath Falls, Ore., bracket with a 13-inning 9-8 win over fifth-seed Dickinson State (N.D.). With little rest, the Saints stayed on the field to face top-seed Oregon Tech for the second time this week. This time, OLLU won 8-5. Now, with the Saints at 3-1 and OT at 2-1, the teams will meet again for the championship. The game is set for May 14 at 1 p.m.
In the 9-8 Saints' win over Dickinson State, Reanna Aguirre went 3-for-7 with one RBI, Caitlin Casas had three hits, and Lilly Rocha went 2-for-6 with two home runs and three RBIs. Annika Litterio (26-8) earned the win by pitching 10 innings and striking out eight. Valerie Vielma struck out two in three innings.
In the 8-5 win over Oregon Tech, Yesenia Perez and Marina Litterio each went 3-for-4 to lead the Saints. Perez and Novalee Gloria both had two RBIs. Vielma (11-3) pitched through the sixth for the win, while Litterio closed the game.
Meanwhile, in the Ashland, Ore., bracket, second-seed Texas A&M-Texarkana began the day with a 1-1 record. The Eagles fell short of advancing after a 7-2 loss to fourth-seed Dordt (Iowa). The Eagles scored both of their runs in the second inning and were unable to add any more. Kylie Malone led the team with two hits and an RBI.
TAMUT, led by Head Coach Tony McKnight, ended the season with a 38-16 record, their second-best in team history, surpassed only by their 2022 record of 43-14.
The RRAC salutes the Eagles for their successful season!
In the Chickasha, Okla., bracket, second-seed LSU Alexandria began the day with a 2-1 record. The Generals first won 9-2 against the top-seed University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. Both teams scored in the first inning. The Generals had a seven-run rally in the seventh. USAO added another run in the fifth. The Generals scored once in the sixth to close out the game. Kaetlyn Dunbar and Lainee Bailey each had three RBIs for LSUA. Bailey (19-7) pitched seven innings with five strikeouts for the win.
Following that win, LSUA had to play again, this time facing third-seed College of Idaho—a team the Pilots lost to earlier this week, 7-4. The Yotes again secured victory, beating LSUA 10-6 to end the Pilots' season. Jillian Howell led with three RBIs.
LSUA, led by Head Coach Trent Partridge, ended the season with a 37-18 record.
The RRAC congratulates the Generals, the regular-season champions, on a great season!
