RRAC's Louisiana Christian and LSU Shreveport advance to third day of NAIA Baseball Opening Round
WACO, Texas (May 12, 2026) – Louisiana Christian and LSU Shreveport continue their trek to advance to the 69th Annual Baseball Tournament Championship World Series, while LSU Alexandria, Our Lady of the Lake (Texas), and Texas A&M-Victoria end their seasons on the second day of the Opening Round. The highlight of the day was a dramatic, closely contested 9-8 game between OLLU and Concordia (Neb.), which featured a late-game rally by OLLU that fell just short.
Second-seed Louisiana Christian, after a challenging opener, fell to top-seed Georgia Gwinnett 12-6 in the second day of the Lawrenceville, Ga., bracket, bringing their record to 1-1. The Wildcats will next face fourth-seed Northwestern Ohio on May 13 at 11 a.m.
Luke Morgan led the Wildcats, going 2-for-4. Matthew Cody had three RBIs. Brandon Carter (8-4) took the loss after pitching five innings and striking out three. Peyton Watts led the Grizzlies, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs, and Vick Gann scored three times. Gavin LeBlanc (5-2) earned the win after pitching five innings and striking out five.
Similarly, first-seed LSU Shreveport dropped its game against second-seed Mid-America Christian (Okla.) 8-2 in the second day of the Shreveport, La., bracket, moving to 1-1. The Pilots advance to play fourth-seed Oklahoma Wesleyan on May 13 at 11 a.m.
The Pilots tallied 16 hits but managed only two runs. Rodrigo Bravo led them, going 3-for-5. David Hankins (7-2) took the loss after pitching six innings and striking out five. Nick Hill led the Evangels, going 2-for-4 with four RBIs. Fabian Hernandez (5-2) earned the win after striking out nine.
Third-seed LSU Alexandria started their day with a 7-4 win over fifth-seed William Woods (Mo.) in the Kingsport, Tenn., bracket. However, they faced top-seed Webber International (Fla.) next and fell 9-0, closing out their run in the Opening Round at 1-2.
The Generals, led by Head Coach Kody Gautreaux, ended their season at 34-17.

Texas A&M-Victoria, the second seed in the Lewiston, Idaho, bracket, suffered a 5-1 loss to fourth-seed Keiser (Fla.), finishing the Opening Round 0-2.
The Jaguars, led by Head Coach Jonathan Stavinoha, concluded their season at 36-17.
The RRAC recognizes A&M-Victoria for a great season, including earning the regular-season trophy!
Fourth-seed Our Lady of the Lake exited after a dramatic 9-8 loss to third-seed Concordia (Neb.) in the Salina, Kan., bracket, finishing 0-2. Trailing through six innings, the Saints attempted a comeback with key hits: Jack Kalisky's single brought in Joshua Milton, Diego Zuniga homered to score Kalisky, and Brett Atkinson's centerfield hit sent Aiden Gonzalez home. In the ninth, Atkinson scored on an error, and a double from Milton brought in Jacob Cueva and Drew Saucedo before three final outs ended their season.
The Saints, led by Head Coach Matthew Piker, end their season with a 34-20 record, the second-best finish in school history. OLLU marked a 34-19 record in 2021.
