A&M-Victoria's Kaiser, OLLU's Rodriguez earn RRAC baseball weekly awards

WACO, Texas (April 27, 2026) – Connor Kaiser of No. 8 Texas A&M-Victoria and Omar Rodriguez of Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) won the RRAC Baseball weekly awards for April 20-26, earning Player and Pitcher of the Week. This is the 14th and last set of weekly winners for the 2026 RRAC baseball season. 

RRAC Baseball Player of the Week – Connor Kaiser – No. 8 Texas A&M-Victoria 

A&M-Victoria infielder Connor Kaiser provided the spark for the Jaguars' offense in an RRAC Championship Opening Round series sweep of Jarvis Christian (Texas). The graduate senior accounted for nine of the Jaguars' 21 runs, driving in seven while scoring twice himself. He had a career-best five RBIs in a 10-0 run-rule win in Game One. He went 2-for-3 and added a sacrifice fly. In that game, Kaiser also recorded two putouts and six assists for a perfect fielding percentage. In Game Two, he guided the Jaguars to an 11-4 win, going 3-for-5 and tallying two runs, a triple, and two RBIs. Kaiser also added two assists. The two wins propel top-ranked A&M-Victoria to the Final Round Tournament in Shreveport, La., May 1-3. 

Kaiser's stat line for the season is .329 batting average, 161 at-bats, 48 runs, 53 hits, 11 doubles, two triples, 44 RBIs, 71 total bases, a .441 slugging percentage, 32 walks, a .458 on-base percentage, eight sacrifice flies, 10 stolen bases, 49 putouts, and 109 assists. 

The Jaguars are second in the RRAC with 106 doubles, a .327 batting average; third with 1,534 at-bats,  502 hits, 363 RBIs, 274 walks, a .443 on-base percentage,  369 strikeouts,  and a 4.24 ERA; fourth with 415 runs, 15 triples, a .461 slugging percentage, 382.1 innings pitched, and a .964 fielding percentage. 

A&M-Victoria will face Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) in Game One on May 1, beginning at 1 p.m. The RRAC Regular-Season Champion Jaguars marked a 21-6 conference record and are 35-13 overall. A&M-Victoria is 27-23 overall and 14-13 in conference. The Jaguars are ranked No. 8 in the NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll.

RRAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week – Omar Rodriguez – Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) 

OLLU junior Omar Rodriguez secured a 6-0 win over Louisiana Christian in the third game of the RRAC Championship Opening Round that sent the Saints to the final round beginning May 1. Rodriguez pitched a nine-inning complete game, allowing just five hits and one walk, while striking out seven for a .67 WHIP. 

Rodriguez's stat line for the season is .435 ERA, 5-2 record, 13 appearances, 68.1 innings pitched, and 53 strikeouts. This is his second pitcher of the week award.

OLLU is second in the conference with 393.1 innings pitched, a 3.73 ERA, third with a 1.41 WHIP, and fifth with 347 strikeouts. 

The Saints won the opening-round series against LCU, losing the first game 3-1 and winning the second and third, 15-6 and 6-0. OLLU will face A&M-Victoria in Game One beginning at 1 p.m. on May 1. The Saints concluded the regular season with a 19-8 RRAC record, and they are now 34-16.

RRAC Notebook:

  • OLLU senior infielder Jacob Cueva guided his team to a 2-1 series win over Louisiana Christian. He went 7-for-11, adding two home runs, six RBIs, and 14 total bases.
  • TAMUT junior infielder Ahmar Donatto helped his team to a 2-1 series win over LSU Alexandria. He went 8-for-15, adding a home run, an RBI, two stolen bases, five putouts, and four assists.
  • LSUS junior utility Carlos Sanchez went 2-for-10, adding three runs in the 10-0 and 8-7 wins over Southwest (N.M.). He also added two stolen bases, six putouts, and four assists.
  • A&M-Victoria senior right-handed pitcher Jonathan Jones delivered a gem in Game One of the RRAC Championship Opening Round. The hurled seven scoreless innings, striking out six while allowing just two hits and a walk as the Jaguars went on to win 10-0 via the run rule in eight innings. It was Jones' NAIA-leading 11th win of the season.
  • TAMUT R-sophomore right-handed pitcher Matthew Hard helped the Eagles win 5-4 and 9-6 against LSUA in the RRAC Championship Opening Round. He pitched 6.1 innings, while striking out three.
  • LSUS senior right-handed pitcher Brock Lucas guided his team to a 10-0 win over USW. He pitched seven innings and struck out 12.
