TAMUSA's Sjo, TAMUT's Thomson claim RRAC Golfer of the Week awards

WACO, Texas (April 13, 2026) – For the week of April 6-12, Texas A&M-San Antonio's Nils Emil Sjo and Texas A&M-Texarkana's Liberty Thomson have been named RRAC Male and Female Golfer of the Week. This is the eighth set of the weekly awards.

RRAC Men's Golfer of the Week – Nils Emil Sjö – Texas A&M-San Antonio

Junior Nils Emil Sjö won the individual crown at the Lark Invitational with a -2, +3, E for a total of 32.42 in the three rounds. His finish was among 85 other golfers. Sjö guided the Jaguars to a first-place finish with a round one 298, round two 287, and round three 296 for a total of 881 (+29). A total of fourteen teams participated in the event sponsored by Terradyne Community College in Andover, Kan.

Sjö is a native of Norrköping, Sweden. 

TAMUSA is ranked No. 70 in the Scoreboard NAIA rankings. Sjö is ranked No. 402 over 1,000 individuals in the NAIA.

RRAC Women's Golfer of the Week – Liberty Thomson – Texas A&M-Texarkana

Junior Liberty Thomson was the highest-placing Eagle at the Bethany College Classic, placing seventh among 36 golfers. She had four birdies in the tournament. Her results were +12 and +11. The Eagles finished in a tie for fourth place with a +48, +63 for 1.63 points.

Thomson is a native of Carrollton, Texas. 

TAMUT is ranked No. 78 in the Scoreboard NAIA rankings. Thomson is ranked No. 391 among 900 golfers.

• TAMUT junior Rylen Caldwell was the highest-placing Eagle in the tournament. He recorded eight birdies and one eagle while also finishing -1 in the second round.
