RRAC Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors go to three from OLLU and one from North American

WACO, Texas (March 30, 2026) – For the week of March 23-29, the RRAC recognized these four athletes:
Male Field: Willis Thibeaux from Our Lady of the Lake (Texas)
Male Track: Richard Davis from Our Lady of the Lake (Texas)
Female Field: JaDae Freeman from Our Lady of the Lake (Texas)
Female Track: Elina Gonzalez from North American University

This is the third set of Men's and Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week.

RRAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week – Willis Thibeaux – Our Lady of the Lake (Texas)

Freshman Willis Thibeaux led the Saints at the Charles Austin Classic sponsored by Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. He placed second in the long jump with a personal best mark of 7.28m. Field events were led by Willis Thibeaux, who placed second in the long jump with a personal best mark of 7.28 meters. Finished second ahead of mostly NCAA D1 schools, and a few NCDD D2 and D3 competitors.

Thibeaux is a native of Katy, Texas.

RRAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week – Richard Davis – Our Lady of the Lake (Texas)

OLLU senior Richard Davis led the Saints at the Charles Austin Classic. He placed third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 54.54. He competed mostly against NCAA D1, with a few from D2 and D3 schools.

Davis is a native of San Antonio, where he attended Brandeis High School.

RRAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week – JaDae Freeman – Our Lady of the Lake (Texas)

Junior JaDae Freeman marked 5.27m in the long jump at the Charles Austin Classic hosted by Texas State University. She placed 14th in a slate of 22 jumpers. Her competitors were from NCAA D1, D2, D3, the NAIA, and the NJCAA.

Freeman is a junior from San Antonio, where she graduated from Sam Houston High School.

RRAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week – Elina Gonzalez – North American-Texas

Freshman Elina Gonzalez ran the 400m at the Prairie View Relays with a time of 100.80. She placed 11th out of 22 runners with a time of 1:00.80. Teams competing included NCAA D1 (including the host school), D2, D3, the NAIA, and the NJCAA.

Gonzalez is a native of Edinburg, Texas.

RRAC Notebook

  • UNTD sophomore Bryson Mcrae posted a mark of 6.35m in the men's long jump at the Clyde Hart Classic hosted by NCAA D1 and Bix XII Baylor (Texas).
  • NAU senior Jamarric Hammond placed eighth in the high jump with a mark of 1.78 at the Prairie View Relays. He placed 18th in the long jump with a 5.85m mark.
  • UNTD sophomore Ben Perin ran the 100m and placed 13th with a time of 10.75 at the Clyde Hart Classic. In the 4x100m relay, his team placed sixth with a time of 41.78, and in the 4x400m relay, the team placed 10th with a time of 3:23.87.
  • NAU freshman Tyler Johns ran the 800m with a time of 2:32.64, the 1500m with a time of 4:57.39, and the 5000m with a time of 18:59.79 at the Prairie View Relays.
  • UNTD Madison Blanch placed 18th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:10.73 at the Clyde Hart Classic. She also competed in the 800m, finishing in 2:28.25.
  • OLLU senior Mia Curiel ran the 800m with a time of 2:24 at the Charles Austin Classic.
  • UNTD Ar'quria Hall made UNTD women's track and field history by being the first competitor in the long jump event with a 4.64m mark. Hall also made her outdoor debut by competing in that event and the 100m.
