LSUA's Wilson named RRAC Baseball Player of the Week, and OLLU's Rodriguez is Pitcher of the Week

WACO, Texas (March 16, 2026) – LSU Alexandria's Dalton Wilson has been named RRAC Baseball Player of the Week, while Our Lady of the Lake's (Texas) Omar Rodriguez has been selected as Pitcher of the Week for the dates of March 9-15. This is the eighth set of weekly winners for the 2026 RRAC baseball season.

RRAC Baseball Player of the Week – Dalton Wilson – LSU Alexandria

Dalton Wilson had a tremendous week that culminated in LSUA's third cycle in school history, the first since 2012. The week started with a 16-12 loss to Southwest (N.M.), when Wilson hit a double and scored a run, adding three RBIs. In the second of the three-game, high-scoring series, the Generals won 24-17, and Dalton led the team as he went 6-for-6, with four runs, including a home run, and seven RBIs. LSUA also won the final game 15-10, when Dalton went 4-for-5 with a home run, three other runs, a single, a double, and a triple, capped off by two RBIs. Dalton marked a .733 batting average in the three games, with a .778 OBP, and 1.400 SLG.

Dalton's six hits and seven RBIs during the week are a team-high so far this season. He leads the Generals with a .429 batting average, .762 slugging percentage, four home runs, 48 total bases, and 17 stolen bases. He is second with 33 runs scored and 28 RBIs.

LSUA is 19-9 overall and 8-4 in the RRAC. The Generals are fifth in the conference.

RRAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week – Omar Rodriguez – Our Lady of the Lake

Junior pitcher Omar Rodriguez pitched a seven-inning complete game against TAMUT. Rodriguez shut out the Eagles 10-0, allowing just two hits, while walking one and striking out eight. Rodriguez has a 7-0 record this season and has contributed to the Saints' 11-game winning streak.

Rodriguez is second on his team with 39 innings pitched and 30 strikeouts. He averages 6.92 strikeouts/game. Rodriguez has a 2.31 ERA and 1.13 WHIP.

OLLU is 20-8 overall and 10-2 in the RRAC. The Saints currently have an NAIA-best 11-game winning streak and an NAIA-best four shutouts.

RRAC Notebook:

  • USW junior outfielder Dong Joon Shin went 12-for-19 in a 39-4 loss to New Mexico State. The Mustangs won the first game vs. LSUA 16-12, and suffered 24-17/15-10 losses.
  • LCU junior outfielder Matthew Cody got at least one hit and scored at least once in all three games of the series against XULA. Cody reached base more than 70 percent of the time, adding five hits, two doubles, three walks, three stolen bases, and five runs.
  • TAMUT senior infielder Tanner Duncan went 5-for-9 in the team's three-game series loss to OLLU. Duncan also put out 16-of-17 on defense for a 1.000 fielding percentage.
  • OLLU senior utility Jack Kalisky led his team to four wins, including one versus Huston-Tillotson (Texas) and three against TAMUT. Kalisky went 6-for-13 and added two doubles, a home run, and six RBIs. He put out 25-of-27 and added an assist and two double plays.
  • LSUS junior Carlos Sanchez led the Pilots to a 4-0 week, including a three-game series win against Texas College. He hit .556 (10-for-18), scored nine, and added four doubles, two triples, two home runs, 12 RBIs, .600 OBP, and 1.333 SLG.
  • XULA senior center fielder Cohen Boyd batted .500 over four games - a midweek game against NCAA Division I opponent Nicholls State and a three-game series against (14) LCU.
  • TAMUV R-junior outfielder Jackson Purcell had multi-hit games to help the Jaguars complete a three-game sweep of Jarvis Christian (Texas) and extend the team's winning streak to a season-best six games. He capped his weekend with a three-run home run in the sixth inning of game three.
  • USW freshman right-handed pitcher Brandon Segal pitched six innings in his team's 15-10 loss to LSUA. He struck out three.
  • LCU graduate student right-handed pitcher Kade Linn pitched a complete-game 11-1 win over XULA. He allowed just three hits and one earned run, no walks, and struck out a season-high 12 batters.
  • TAMUT freshman right-handed pitcher Remi Rountree pitched 2.2 innings in his team's 10-0 loss to OLLU. He struck out four, while allowing just one hit and no runs.
  • LSUS senior right-handed pitcher Brock Lucas led the Pilots to an 11-1 win over Texas College. Lucas threw 7.0 innings, allowing just three hits and one unearned run while not issuing a walk. He struck out 13 batters and did not allow a home run, finishing with a 0.00 ERA, 0.43 WHIP, and 16.71 strikeouts per nine innings.
  • TAMUV senior right-handed pitcher Blane Zeplin struck out 10 over six shutout innings in the Jaguars' 9-0 win over JCU in game two en route to a series sweep and a season-long six-game winning streak. This is the fourth time the Victoria native has eclipsed the 10-strikeout plateau this season.
