RRAC's LSUA falls to Eastern Oregon in the first round of the NAIA Men's Basketball Tournament
LANGSTON, Okla. (March 13, 2026) – No. 5 LSU Alexandria fell to No. 12 Eastern Oregon, 89-78, in the NAIA Men's Basketball Championship Tournament. The Generals ended their 2026 season with a 23-9 record. Eastern Oregon advances to the Langston Bracket Championship (second round) to face Langston (Okla.) on March 14 at 6 p.m. The winner will reach the 88th Annual Men's Basketball National Championship, which starts March 19 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.
The Generals held a slight first-half edge. After opening with a three-pointer, they led until 9:46, when James Bodily put Eastern Oregon ahead 18-16. The Generals answered with a 5-0 run and led at halftime, 36-30. LSUA increased the lead to nine at 39-30 in the second half. The teams went back and forth, with neither team leading by more than three points, sending the game to a 67-67 tie at the end of regulation.
After regulation ended tied at 67-67, Eastern Oregon scored first in overtime, taking a 69-67 lead a minute in. The Mountaineers extended their advantage to 72-67 with three minutes left and continued their momentum to ultimately win 89-78.
Individual leaders
LSUA was led offensively by starters Jordan Decuir (20) and EJ McQuillan (18), while Courtney McCarthy added 15 points off the bench.
The Mountaineers were led by James Bodily off the bench, scoring 30 points. Starter Keilan Torkomoo contributed 21 points and 15 rebounds, while Logan Orchard and Trent Rogers added 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Team totals
The Generals tallied 42.6 percent from the field, 35.7 percent from three-point range, and 80 percent from the free-throw line. They also added 34 rebounds, 10 assists, and six steals.
Eastern Oregon shot 41.8 percent from the field, 35.7 percent from three-point range, and 71.9 percent from the line. The Mountaineers tallied 48 rebounds, 14 assists, seven steals, and four blocks.
