RRAC releases 2025-26 women's basketball all-conference selections and player of the year honors
WACO, Texas – LSU Shreveport was the dominant force again this season in RRAC women's basketball, and the Pilots collected multiple awards and all-conference honors following their third consecutive regular season conference title.
2025-26 RRAC Women's Basketball All-Conference Team
Selma Markisic repeated as a first-team all-RRAC selection and earned the RRAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year award. The senior guard from Brooklyn, N.Y., led the conference in scoring with 17.9 points per game. She shot 41% from the field and 33% from three-point range for the season.
Toni Coleman of LSUS garnered the RRAC Defensive Player of the Year award which played a part in her selection also as the RRAC Newcomer of the Year. The junior guard from South Medford, Ore., came to the Pilots from Clackamas Community College (Ore.). Coleman leads the RRAC and the nation in steals with a school-record 133. She also averaged 12.6 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game as a point guard.
Sydney Person of LSU Alexandria made a good first impression and was named the RRAC Freshman of the Year. The forward from Houston was sixth in the conference in scoring with 14.1 points per game, and she was fourth in field goal shooting percentage (47.6%).
Tim Hays led the Pilots to back-to-back conference titles and earned the RRAC Coach of the Year honor. LSUS won the regular season and tournament championships last year, and they posted a 20-2 conference mark en route to the No. 1 seed in the RRAC tournament.
Markisic, Coleman and Person were recognized as all-RRAC first-team selections. They are joined on the first team by Alicia Blanton of Xavier, De'Asia Johnson of North Texas-Dallas, Kylei Leblanc of Louisiana Christian, Evelyn Lorenzo of Texas A&M-San Antonio, Imani Rothschild of Texas A&M-Texarkana, Savannah Velazquez of North American, and Alex Westerdijk-Martin of Our Lady of the Lake.
Markisic and Lorenzo are the only repeat first-team selections.
