A&M-Victoria's Pate and Simon selected as first RRAC Golfers of the Week for the spring

WACO, Texas (Feb. 23, 2026) – The RRAC has announced that Madeline Pate from Texas A&M-Victoria is the RRAC Women's Golfer of the Week for Feb. 16-22, and teammate Florian Simon is the RRAC Men's Golfer of the Week for the same dates. This is the first set of the weekly awards.

RRAC Women's Golfer of the Week – Madeline Pate – Texas A&M-Victoria
Sophomore Madeline Pate from Cibolo, Texas, turned in her fourth career Top 10 finish at the Claud Jacobs Invitational at the Victoria Country Club. The Jaguars did not compete as a team, and recorded scores for individuals only.

Pate shot an 82 in the first round, followed by an 80 in the second round for a final score of 162 (+18) to finish in a tie for fifth place.

RRAC Men's Golfer of the Week – Florian Simon – Texas A&M-Victoria
Freshman Florian Simon led the Jaguars to a third-place finish at the Claud Jacobs Invitational at the Victoria Country Club. He carded 11 birdies and an eagle for a career-best tie for sixth place. To open the tournament, the Bourdeaux, France, native went three-under par (69) thanks to four birdies and an eagle.

• Liberty Thomson led the way to a second-place finish for TAMUT. She carded a +25 to finish 11th overall.
• LCU senior Blake Francis won the individual title at the 4-Him Invitational and was the only golfer at that event to have an under-par round when he shot a -4 66 in round two to clinch the title.
• TAMUT junior Rylen Caldwell had nine birdies over three rounds, and he finished under par in round one and even in round three.
• OLLU's Victor Pena-Cortes tied for ninth in the San Antonio Shootout. He shot a 68-72-81=221.
