OLLU's Costa, TAMUT's Gonzalez Selected as RRAC Tennis Players of the Week

WACO, Texas (Feb. 23, 2026) – The RRAC recognized Eliot Costa from 11th-ranked Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) as RRAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week, while Ana Gonzalez from (RV) Texas A&M-Texarkana earned Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the dates of Feb. 16-22. This is the second set of weekly winners for the 2026 RRAC tennis season.

RRAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week – Eliot Costa – (11) Our Lady of the Lake (Texas)

OLLU freshman Eliot Costa earned a straight-set victory in the No. 4 slot against NCAA D2 St. Mary's (Texas) Florian Smalto with a score of 6-4, 6-4. He and his partner Bastien Prod'homme fell 6-4 to Lucas Castillo Sanchez and Victor Velter. The Saints lost 5-2 against the Rattlers.

He won 6-3, 6-4 in singles against James Arens from Southwestern (Texas). He and partner Gabriel Nogueira lost their doubles match 6-4 against Ashton Ellis and Nathan Qi. The Saints defeated Southwestern 4-3.

Costa then won his singles against Concordia's (Texas) Daniel Beckles, 6-2, 6-3. Costa and partner Matis Nuziere lost their doubles match 6-4 against Steven Scholz and Jake Riggs. The Saints still defeated Concordia 7-0.

RRAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week – Ana Gonzalez – (RV) Texas A&M-Texarkana

Sophomore Ana Gonzalez and partner Zahra Dreyer Ferreira defeated East Texas Baptist's Monique Ybarra and Fernanda Ruiz Burkart 6-2. She won her singles over Burkart 6-1, 6-1. The Eagles won 5-2.

Gonzalez and partner Zahra Dreyer Ferreira shut out Ozarks' Madison Hamilton and Kelsey Smith, 6-0. She defeated Smith 6-0, 6-1 in her singles match as the team won 6-0.

TAMUT won 5-2 over Oklahoma Wesleyan. Gonzalez and teammate Lucia Siddens won their doubles match 6-4 against ITA 22nd-ranked Rocio Espinal and Jewel Henderson. Gonzalez dominated Espinal 6-2, 6-0.

Gonzalez and Siddens won their doubles match against Austin College's Emma Davidson and Olivia Sanchez 6-0. Gonzalez tallied 6-0, 6-1 in her singles win over Olivia Sanchez. The Eagles won 7-0.

Gonzalez and Siddens defeated Farren Allysia Sandy from the NAIA's 18th/ITA's 15th-ranked Louisiana Christian 7-5. Gonzalez also won her singles match against Elizaveta Mikhailova, 6-1, 3-6, 10-6. The Eagles lost to the Wildcats 1-6.

• TAMUT senior Marc Gonzalez and partner Alvaro Tormo Lopez defeated Ozarks' Nathan Briggs and Ryan Rosalin 6-2. The Eagles defeated Ozarks 6-1. Gonzalez won his singles match against East Texas Baptist's Mark Armbruster 1-6, 7-5 (10-5). The Eagles won 6-1. He lost his singles match to Oklahoma Wesleyan's Raphael Alvado 7-5, 5-7, 2-6. TAMUT won 4-3.
• LSUA sophomore Nahia Echaide took down Loyola's Micaela Ponce in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3 in No. 1 singles. She is now 4-0 in singles on the season. LSUA defeated Loyola 4-3.
• OLLU freshman Carolina Guerrero and teammate Michaela Muller defeated Southwestern's Addison Powell and Kimberly Duncan 6-1. She won her singles match against Daryl Locke, 6-1, 6-1. The Saints defeated Southwestern 6-1.
