OLLU's Nuziere, LSUA's Stuurman capture first RRAC Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Week

WACO, Texas (Feb. 16, 2026) – Matis Nuziere of 11th-ranked Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) earned the RRAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week award for Feb. 9-15, while Isabella Stuurman of No. 10 LSU Alexandria was named the RRAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the same dates. This is the first set of weekly winners for the 2026 RRAC tennis season.

RRAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week – Matis Nuziere – (11) Our Lady of the Lake (Texas)

OLLU sophomore and Lyon, France, native Matis Nuziere and the Saints competed against three nationally respected programs at the ITA-NAIA Indoor Nationals. The team faced (1) Keiser (Fla.), (5) Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), and (7) Holy Cross (Ind.). The Saints started the week with a match against Collin.

Nuziere and Jaroslav Majsajdr partnered in the No. 2 spot and lost 6-2 to Oliver King and Alam Shaheed from Keiser. Nuziere's singles match was cut short with King leading 6-1/4-3. The Saints lost 4-0. Against (7) Holy Cross, Nuziere and Majsajdr fell to Thomas Friesen/Naithaolin Golmei, 6-6. The Saints fell 4-3. The two defeated Lucas Marques/Mateo Larrea of (5) Lindsey Wilson, 6-4. Nuziere went unfinished against Aldo Randazzo with a score of 4-6/6-4/1-0. Lindsey Wilson won 4-0. The Saints defeated Collin (Texas) 6-1. The two doubles partners won 6-2 against Nico Nadali/Santiago Martinez, and Nuziere won his singles match 6-1/6-1 over Pablo Antolinos.

RRAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week – Isabella Stuurman – (10) LSU Alexandria

LSUA sophomore Isabella Stuurman from Arnhem, Gelderland, the Netherlands, defeated Weichiao Chen from Dillard (La.) in No. 3 singles with a score of 5-7/6-2/6-6, guiding the 7-0 overall win. In doubles, Stuurman and partner Lucie Ivanova recorded a 6-3 win over Chen and Gia Pereira.

• LSUS sophomore Sara Sanchez delivered a standout performance in a tightly contested 4-3 road match at Texas A&M–Texarkana on Feb. 12. Competing in both singles and doubles play, Sanchez was instrumental in keeping the Pilots in contention throughout the match. She secured a key singles victory, displaying composure and resilience in pressure moments, and added a doubles win to account for two of LSUS's three total team points on the afternoon. On the season, Sanchez is off to a strong start with two overall wins, including one singles and one doubles victory in conference play.
