RRAC Men's Soccer Quarterfinals begin today
SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 7, 2025) – The RRAC begins the 2025 RRAC Men's Soccer postseason this afternoon with the two quarterfinal first-round matches. Competitions feature No. 6-seed Texas A&M-Victoria at No. 3-seed Xavier (La.) and No. 5-seed Texas A&M-Texarkana at No. 4-seed Texas A&M-San Antonio.
Last season, the fifth-seed Louisiana Christian shocked the conference with the championship after defeating second-seed XULA 2-0. XULA began the tournament with a 3-0 win over seventh-seed Jarvis Christian (Texas), while LSUA defeated TAMUT 2-1. Top-seed LSUS defeated eighth-seed Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) 2-0, and LCU beat TAMUSA 0-0 (7-6 PKs). In the semifinals round, LCU shut out LSUS 1-0, and Xavier blanked LSUA 1-0 in overtime.

TAMUV vs. XULA, 2 p.m.
TAMUV is 8-8-2 overall and finished with a 4-5-2 conference record. The Jaguars are coming off a tie vs. OLLU and three shutout losses. TAMUV is fifth in the conference with 29 goals and 27 assists.
Midfielder Jervan Matthew leads his team with eight goals and three assists. He also leads in shots with 39, 19 on goal. Keeper Tyler Kaeppeli marks a 7-6-1 record with two shutouts and 37 saves for an average of .742.
In the regular-season matchup against the NAIA's No. 21-ranked XULA, the Jaguars lost 1-0. First-year Head Coach Vince Martinez leads TAMUV.
XULA lost its last regular-season game to LSUA 2-1 for a 10-3-2 overall record and a final 7-2-1 conference record. The team has taken 220 shots, scoring 35 goals and recording 33 assists.
Forward Iman Ouedraogo leads the Gold Rush with 13 goals and is tied for first in the conference with 10 assists. He is third in the conference in shooting with 61, 28 on goal. Keeper Breno Zanolla is 10-3-2 for his team. He is first in shutouts with nine and is second in the conference in wins.
Head Coach Lucas Cordeiro leads the Gold Rush.
TAMUT vs. TAMUSA, 2:30 p.m.
TAMUT is 7-6-5 overall and ended conference with a 6-4-1 record. The Eagles finished the season with two wins, including a 4-0 shutout over Texas College and a 2-1 victory over JCU.
The Eagles are led by forward Diego Picano, who has 11 goals for fourth in the conference. He also leads his team in shooting and is fifth in the conference with 39 shots, 25 on goal. Keeper David Yearwood led his team this season with a record of 5-2-3, recording 43 saves and two shutouts. He is fourth in the conference in saves and fifth in save percentage with .754.
The Eagles are under the direction of 10-year Head Coach Don Koontz.
TAMUSA is 10-3-2 overall – its best record in school history - and ends at 7-3-1 in conference. The Jaguars are coming off six wins in the past eight games. The team is fourth in the conference in goals, with 29, and in assists, with 27.
Forward Ronald Aguilar leads the conference in goals with 18 and in shooting with 64, and is second in shots on goal with 31. Keeper Dominic Pena has 33 saves, while recording a 10-4-2 record.
Leading TAMUSA is Head Coach Robert Jaramillo, who has been at the helm since 2022.
Winners of each match will advance to the semifinals that will be held on Monday, Nov. 10, at Judy Kelley Morgan Field, hosted by Texas A&M-Texarkana.
