OLLU's Tapia, Suarez Garner RRAC Women's Soccer of the Week Awards

WACO, Texas (Nov. 3, 2025) – The RRAC announced that Leah Tapia from Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) is this week's RRAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 27-Nov. 2, while teammate London Suarez is the Defensive Player of the Week.


RRAC Offensive Player of the Week – Leah Tapia – Our Lady of the Lake University

Junior forward Leah Tapia scored four goals and added three assists in wins against A&M-Victoria, Texas College and A&M-San Antonio. She tallied eight shots, six on goal. Tapia has accumulated seven goals and 11 assists this season, and has tallied 48 shots, 33 on goal. 

Additional nominees: Genevieve Colon from North American (Texas), Brooklyn Lattier from A&M-Texarkana, Ashley Moore from LSU Shreveport, Linnea Lundstroem from LSU Alexandria and Ayloni Garcia from TAMUV.


RRAC Defensive Player of the Week – London Suarez – Our Lady of the Lake University

Senior keeper London Suarez recorded three saves in two shutouts against TAMUV and Texas College and a 3-2 win against TAMUSA. She has 17 saves this season. 

Additional nominees: Arely Sarabia from NAU, Giselle Laing from LCU, Yanira Herraez from LSUA, Judith Lopez from TAMUT and Jamie Noriega from TAMUV.


 RRAC Notebook:

  • NAU's Genevieve Colon tallied one assist, three shots and two on goal in the team's game against TAMUV.
  • TAMUT's Brooklyn Lattier sparked the Eagles' attack in their 4-0 win over Jarvis Christian (Texas), netting the opening goal and assisting on the second. Lattier recorded six shots.
  • Ashley Moore from LSUS tallied two goals against LCU. She took four shots, all on goal.
  • Linnea Lundstroem from LSUA scored the equalizing goal in a 2-2 draw with XULA with just 20 seconds left in the match.
  • TAMUV's Ayloni Garcia dispatched a penalty against NAU on Saturday, which proved to be the decisive goal. With that goal, Garcia tied the single-season record for goals (14) and points (31) at TAMUV.
  • Arely Sarabia from NAU recorded 13 saves against TAMUV last week. She leads the conference and is seventh in the NAIA in saves with 132.
  • Giselle Laing from LCU notched a brace in both of LCU's final matches of the season. She scored two goals against Jarvis as LCU rolled to a 6-1 win over the Bulldogs, then added two more goals in the season finale against LSUS. She took 13 total shots in the two matches on her way to her four goals.
  • LSUA's Yanira Herraez tallied three saves in her team's 2-2 tie against XULA.
  • TAMUT's Judith Lopez anchored the Eagles' back line in Saturday's 4-0 victory over Jarvis, playing a crucial role in the team's shutout performance.
  • Jamie Noriega from TAMUV recorded five saves against OLLU and six vs. NAU. She is sixth in the conference with 65 saves on the season.
