Xavier Standouts Win Women's Soccer Player of the Week Awards

WACO, Texas (Oct. 27, 2025) – The RRAC announced that Xavier University (La.) has won both RRAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week for Oct. 20-26. Offensive Player of the Week is Samira Roper and Defensive Player of the Week is Luisa Bella.


RRAC Offensive Player of the Week – Samira Roper – Xavier University of Louisiana 

Senior forward Roper broke her XULA record for season goals. She is tied for third in the NAIA this season with 22 goals. This was her eighth multi-goal game this season, as she guided her team to give Louisiana Christian University its biggest losing margin in five RRAC seasons. Roper also added an assist, and she shot eight times, with seven on goal.

RRAC Defensive Player of the Week – Luisa Bella – Xavier University of Louisiana 

Junior keeper Bella allowed no goals in her last seven games, as XULA leads the RRAC with a 0.85 goals-against average. She helped her team post LCU's largest losing margin in five RRAC seasons. Bella has recorded 27 saves this season, the fourth best in the conference. 

Additional defensive nominees: Audrian Cruz (LSUA), Catherine Joyce (TAMUT), Arely Saravia (NAU).


RRAC Notebook

  • LSUA senior Alexia Bermejo Jo scored a pair of goals in both games against LSUS and LCU. She had the game-winning goal against LCU. She totaled seven shots, six on goal. On the season, Bermejo has 11 goals and four assists, plus 43 shots, 29 on goal.
  • TAMUT junior Ava Axtle delivered a standout performance in the Eagles' dominant 7-0 win over Texas College, netting two goals and setting the tone for the team's offensive surge. She had a total of nine shots, six on goal.
  • Emily Aguayo, a senior from NAU, scored the only goal against TAMUSA. The Jaguars defeated the Mustangs 5-1.
  • LSUS junior middle Halee Hernandez scored two goals in the Pilots' 5-3 win over LSUA. She had two shots, both on goal.
  • LSUA defender Audrian Cruz scored a header goal off a corner from Nelly Dallmann in the Generals' 6-0 win over LCU.
  • TAMUT sophomore defender Catherine Joyce played a crucial role in the Eagles' defensive success, helping limit opponents' chances while adding her first goal of the season in the 7-0 victory over Texas College.
  • NAU keeper Arely Sarabia had six saves in the team's 5-1 loss to TAMUSA.
  • OLLU sophomore Eleonora Diversi recorded a hat trick this weekend against NAU. In the 9-0 shutout, Diversi recorded four shots, three on goal, and she added an assist. She has nine goals and five assists on the season.
