A&M-Victoria's Garcia, Noriega capture RRAC women's soccer weekly honors
WACO, Texas – Ayloni Garcia of Texas A&M-Victoria earned RRAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the dates Sept. 29-Oct. 5, while her teammate, Jamie Noriega, received the RRAC Women's Defensive Player of the Week honor for the same dates.
RRAC Offensive Player of the Week - Ayloni Garcia, A&M - Victoria
Garcia continued her hot streak this season, finding the net three times and providing an assist in an unbeaten week. The McAllen native scored twice and had her assist in the Jaguars' 6-2 win over Jarvis Christian for her third multi-goal game this season. She scored A&M-Victoria's lone goal in a historic 1-1 draw at Texas A&M-Texarkana, the first ever non-loss result for the Jaguars (win or draw) in Texarkana. Garcia's nine goals this year are on pace to set a new single-season scoring record at A&M-Victoria, and she ranks third in the RRAC. This marks the second time this season that Garcia has earned the weekly award for offense.
RRAC Defensive Player of the Week - Jami Noriega, A&M - Victoria
Noriega made a season-high 11 saves in the 1-1 draw against TAMUT on Saturday. It was the second time this season Noriega has made 10 or more saves in a match. She ranks in the Top five in the RRAC in save percentage (.792), goals allowed average (1.30), saves (38) and goals allowed (10). This is Noriega's second Defensive Player of the Week award this season.

RRAC Notebook:
- LSUA's Alexia Bermejo Jo (LSUA) scored both the equalizing and game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over A&M-San Antonio on just two shots.
- Xavier's Juliana Kottbauer contributed two goals on Thursday at A&M-San Antonio. Kottbauer has five goals in the last four games after going scoreless in the first four.
