TAMUT's Narvaez, Xavier's Thompson named RRAC women's soccer players of the week

WACO, Texas – Desiree Narvaez of Texas A&M University-Texarkana was recognized as the RRAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 22-28, while Amelia Thompson of Xavier University (La.) was awarded RRAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the same week.

RRAC Offensive Player of the Week - Desiree Narvaez, Texas A&M-Texarkana
Narvaez was a dominant presence on the attack, tallying a goal and an assist against OLLU before netting a hat trick versus TAMUSA. She has already scored 12 goals this season and now ranks tied for second in career goals at 32, while also moving into second place on the Eagles' all-time assists list.

RRAC Defensive Player of the Week - Amelia Thompson, Xavier
Thompson started conference play by scoring her first two goals of the season last week consecutive games. The senior was part of a defense that allowed only one shot and outscored their opponents, 25-0, in two games.

RRAC Notebook:

Alexia Bermejo Jo (LSUA) - Recorded a hat trick and assist against Texas College...Became LSUA all-time goals leader (27) and points leader (78)...Surpassed Remmie Ferla's previous mark of 24 goals

Venessa Bevalian (TAMUV) Bevalian scored the game-winner for the Jaguars in a 2-1 win over Louisiana Christian on Saturday. It was the third time this season A&M-Victoria has scored a game-tying or winning goal after the 80th minute -- two of which have come from Bevalian's foot.  

Samira Roper (Xavier) School-record 4 goals against Texas College, then added three more against Southwest. Against Texas College she became the program's all-time leading scorer. Roper has 31 career goals in 28 games; the old record was 26 by 2024 NAIA All-American Luci Schroeder.
