Thomas, Kaeppeli capture RRAC men's soccer weekly awards

WACO, Texas – Jack Thomas of LSU Shreveport (La.) garnered the RRAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award for Sept. 8-14, while Tyler Kaeppeli of Texas A&M University-Victoria was named the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week for the same dates.

RRAC Offensive Player of the Week – Jack Thomas (LSU Shreveport)
Thomas delivered a goal and two assists in the Pilots' breakthrough 3-1 victory over the University of Mobile (Ala.). The senior midfielder from Whittington, England, created opportunities for his teammates and recorded three shots. LSUS started the season with five ties before clinching its first victory of 2025.

RRAC Defensive Player of the Week – Tyler Kaeppeli (A&M-Victoria)
Kaeppeli secured nine saves in a 2-0 week for the Jaguars. The senior goalkeeper from Vernon, B.C., became the school's all-time saves leader with 148. Kaeppeli hauled in seven saves in a 5-1 victory over Texas Wesleyan University and he posted a 4-0 shutout over Dallas Christian College (Texas). TAMUV improved to 3-2 on the season.

  • TAMUSA's Ronald Aguilar scored three goals as the Jaguars won two matches last week.
  • LSUA's Pablo Dominguez de Leon netted a pair of goals in the Generals' 4-0 victory over Blue Mountain Christian.
  • TAMUV's Jervan Matthew accounted for three goals and two assists in the Jaguars' 2-0 week.
  • LSUA's Ivan Capurro made three saves in the Generals' shutout over BMCC.
  • Andre Budrich and the rest of the TAMUT defense allowed only one goal in two matches last week.
