LSUA's Blasco, Xavier's Bain selected for RRAC weekly tennis awards

WACO, Texas – Belen Blasco of LSU Alexandria (La.) earned recognition as the RRAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for March 31-April 6, while Jacobi Bain of Xavier University (La.) was selected as the RRAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the same dates. This is the sixth set of weekly winners for the 2025 RRAC tennis season.

Blasco provided the difference in the Generals' 4-3 victory over LSU Shreveport (La.). The senior from Valencia, Spain, won at No. 3 singles over Angela Basto, 6-2, 6-0, and at No. 3 doubles with teammate Isabella Stuurman, 6-3. Tenth-ranked LSUA is now 6-3 on the season.

Bain posted victories at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles in the Gold Rush's 6-1 triumph over crosstown rival Dillard University (La.). The senior from Nassau, Bahamas, edged No. 55 Yassine Benjemaa, 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 and teamed with Nereo Suarez for a 6-1 doubles victory. Bain sits at No. 51 in the national singles rankings with a 12-3 mark. Xavier is ranked eighth in the NAIA and has won seven of its last eight matches to reach an 11-7 record.
