TAMUT's Johnson, Brannan merit RRAC Cross Country Runner of the Week recognition
WACO, Texas – Shea Johnson of Texas A&M University-Texarkana claimed the RRAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week award for Sept. 23-29, while TAMUT's Zalenka Brannan was selected as the RRAC Women's Runner of the Week for the same dates. This is the fifth award of the 2024 cross country season.
Johnson was the top NAIA finisher in the Nicholls State University (La.) XC Invitational on Saturday. The junior from Marble Falls, Texas, placed 19th with a time of 21:04.53 in the four-mile race. Johnson was competing against a field of 106 runners.
Brannan placed 25th in a field of 96 runners at Nicholls State. The sophomore from Whitesboro, Texas, posted a time of 19:37.29 in the 5K meet for her second weekly award of the season.
