BIO:

Charles Fordjour was a force in RRAC men's basketball during the early years of the conference. After transferring from the University of Houston (Texas), the power forward averaged 14.5 points and 8.2 rebounds through three seasons for Houston Baptist University (Texas).

Fordjour shot 54% from the field, 78% from the free throw line and 42% from three-point range from 1999-2002. He played in 104 games while making 75 starts over that span. HBU won RRAC regular season championships in each of Fordjour's seasons and 2-of-3 RRAC men's basketball tournaments. He made three appearances in the NAIA national tournament including 2000-01 when HBU finished at the fourth-ranked team in the country.

Fordjour earned two RRAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year awards, following the 2000-01 and 2001-02 seasons. He was recognized as a first-team RRAC All-Conference performer in all three years and earned NAIA All-America selections after his junior and senior seasons. He averaged 15.6 points and 9.9 rebounds per game as a junior and 15.4 and 7.2 as a senior.

In the HBU record books, Fordjour is fifth in career scoring (1,511 points), second in rebounding (853) and ninth in blocks.

The Huskies posted an 85-20 record during Fordjour's career. He was selected to the HBU Sports Hall of Honor in 2006.

“Charles came to us after a year at the University of Houston and fit in nicely with us right away, both on and off the court," says HBU men's basketball coach Ron Cottrell, who has coached there since 1991. "While an imposing force on the floor, Charles was as good a person off it as you could ever find. He had a big heart for his team, his teammates and his university.

"This was evident in the fact that even as our star player, a returning All-American and the reigning RRAC Player of The Year, Charles sacrificed for the greater good of our team by coming off the bench his senior season. And, he was rewarded with All-America and RRAC Player of the Year honors AGAIN. We couldn’t be more proud of what Charles accomplished for us as a player, but even more by the man, husband, father and alum he has become.”
