February 26, 2008

WACO, Texas –
Lindsay Glass of Bacone College (Okla.) was named the Red River Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week following games played during the dates of Feb. 18-24, while her teammate, Robin Chriestenson was picked for the RRAC’s softball pitcher honor.

Glass, a senior catcher from Kansas, Okla., propelled Bacone to a 4-2 week by scoring five runs and driving in nine others. She hit in all six games including a 3-for-5 effort with a double, home run and seven RBIs in a 16-14 win over Ouachita Baptist University (Ark.). Earlier in the week, she went 2-for-4 with a run-scoring single in a 2-1 win over 18th-ranked Rogers State University (Okla.). Overall, Glass was 9-of-23 at the plate (.409) with a walk and two stolen bases. Bacone is now 4-6 on the season.

Chriestenson, a freshman pitcher from Mounds, Okla., won three games for Bacone and earned a save in the Lady Warriors’ other victory. She took to the mound eight innings while allowing just two hits to earn the 2-1 win over RSU, and she scattered six hits while allowing just one run in a 2-1 win over OBU. Chriestenson earned a save despite allowing three earned runs in the 16-14 win, and she collected another victory in relief in a 6-5 win that closed a four-game set against OBU.

Courtney Hayley of Northwood University (Texas) was also nominated for player of the week. Rayne Reynolds of Texas Wesleyan University and Northwood’s Ashley Westerman were additional pitcher nominees.
